I made up my mind that after the completion of my higher secondary level education I will apply for overseas studies to gain an internationally recognized degree. I was in a dilemma about where to study, which country to choose for overseas studies. There are numerous options when deciding which country to choose for overseas study. I made a couple of research on countries that are considered a famous destination for international students like the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and other European and Asian countries. After researching all these countries and learning scenarios in Nepal, I find Australia to be the best and most suitable for me to pursue my further studies in Information Technology.
Australia is considered one of the most diversified, internationalized, and secure countries providing one of the best education systems in the world. Australia offers globally recognizable world-class education and regularly features in the global ranking. It is considered the third most popular international education destination. One of the main reasons for choosing Australia for further studies is that it provides the finest global education technique and system, with friendly neighborhoods full of diverse cultures and a high standard of living. In comparison with other countries the living arrangement, costs and tuition fees are also relatively low. Furthermore, Australia is also considered the most livable country with low crime rates. It has a suitable weather condition like my home country when comparing weather conditions of other countries. Australia has three in ten most livable cities in the world, according to The Global Livability Report 2017. As a result, there is an increasing inflow of international students in Australia to enhance and flourish their careers in their desired fields to learn, live and grow. Furthermore, it has a suitable weather condition like my home country when comparing weather conditions of other countries.
In addition to this, Australia is known for global leading education with some of the world’s best facilities and educators. According to the University System
In addition to this, Australia is known for global leading education with some of the world’s best facilities and educators. According to the University System Ranking(www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings)and (www.topuniversities.com), Australia is amongst the top nine countries for education as Australia offers a wide range of courses, about 22,000, allowing students to select from over 1100 best institutions as per their Education Qualification research facility. In Australia, there is a national policy called Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) (www.aqf.edu.au) which ensures that there is a uniform and recognized progression for study. The AQF establishes pathways between qualifications and sets the standard for learning outcomes at each level, so no matter what I study I can be sure that I will gain formal recognition.
Most importantly, the Australian Government has done its utmost to safeguard international students in Australia in every respect. For example, all the courses in Australia are strictly monitored under the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and
Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) ( www.cricos.education.gov.au ). The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) ( www.visabureau.com/australia/dibp.aspx ) is responsible for the administration of the student visa program under the Migration Act 1958. In a similar way, Education Service for Overseas Students (ESOS) (https://internationaleducation.gov.au/Regulatory- Information/Pages/Regulatoryinformation.aspx ) framework plays a role in ensuring that providers uphold the integrity of Australia’s Student Visa Program throughout their stay in Australia. The National Code sets out the course attendance, progress, and completion requirements for overseas students that a registered provider must monitor and report on. Tuition Protection Service (TPS) is another scheme that refunds services for international students, which is activated if the concerned institution is unable to deliver the course. Undoubtedly, this is one of the unique features of the entire global education system.
Apart from providing a wide variety of courses and degrees along with tuition protection services, Australia also provides a forum for rigorous scientific research. In Australia, there is high flexibility in terms of academic mobility. Part-time working opportunity is an excellent scheme that not only helps students to earn and gain experience but also engages them in the socializing and assimilating process with the vastly multicultural social setups of Australia. Post Study Work (PSW) is another opportunity for international students as this will familiarize them with Australian industries in their relevant sectors after the completion of undergraduate and graduate programs from the Australian higher education providers. This, in future, will be helpful to utilize their experiences in the companies of their home countries or another global job market. Thus, Australia stands almost unrivalled as one of the best study destinations among other alternatives like the USA, UK, Canada, and European countries.
Studying abroad for gaining internationally recognized degrees and global exposure has become a growing trend among the youths in Nepal. However, studying abroad is not as easy as it looks, there might be lots of risks, obstacles, and hindrances. So, choosing a particular country that provides quality education, safe learning and living environment, affordable living cost and tuition fees is considered the most important and difficult task for every single student planning to study overseas.
So, I did a couple of research on countries that are considered a famous destination for international students like the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, and other European and Asian countries. Among these countries, I got fascinated with the overall facilities provided in Australia and the Australian Education system. There are reasons for me to not choose other countries like the USA, UK, Canada, and other countries over Australia. And the reasons are mentioned below:
Students need to participate in exams like SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) or ACT (American University Testing) which require a lot of time for preparation approximately 3 to 4 months.
Furthermore, the climatic condition of Canada, the UK, the USA and other European is extremely cold at -19.7 degrees Celsius and in Japan, there is huge Flooding and Earthquake every year but, the climate of Australia is like the climate of Nepal.
Most European and Asian Countries like Japan and Germany students must learn their native language and have to participate in language tests such as German language, JPLT, NAT in other to get the opportunity of admission.
The currency ratio between Nepal and other countries is comparatively high in comparison with Australia, 1 Canadian dollar is equivalents to NRP 84.78, 1 USA dollar equivalents to NRP. 110.15- And 1-pound sterling equivalents to NRP. 143, whereas Australia has only NRP. 81.50 (source:
https://www.x-rates.com ) which makes a large difference for international students regarding their tuition fees and other living expenses.
Furthermore, there is a security issue in countries like the USA where foreign students are not welcomed and, we can hear the frequent cases of gunfire and loot in the USA
which can create risk for international students. Australia is considered the safest country for international students and Australia itself is in the top ten happiest countries in the world. But in the case of the USA, there is a lack of security for foreign students as foreign students are not welcomed and issues like gunfire and loot have been noticed frequently in the US.
So, after comparing all these facts including, living expenses, tuition fees, weather conditions, provision for the protection of international students’ rights and responsibility I made an important decision in my life to study in Australia over the countries like the USA, UK, Canada, and other famous destinations.
After deciding on a country and city for overseas studies, another important task for international students is to select a particular college for their further studies. Choosing perfect universities and colleges is considered the most confusing and difficult task for every overseas student. It wasn’t an easy task for me to choose a particular college among the renowned college, especially in Australia where most of the colleges and universities are ranked top in terms of quality education. I had to finalize a college where I could get a familiar environment along with a good teaching-learning system. So, I began to research several colleges and universities and compare them under various categories like environment, affordability, teaching and learning process etc. I also consulted with some students already studying in Australia and most of them recommended me to XXX College for a Bachelor of Information Technology.
XXX College is institute has a team who are proven widely experienced practitioners with a good record of achievement in education and technology. I will develop an understanding of the practical and theoretical skills fundamental to launching my career. It provides industry-relevant IT knowledge and excellent student support and learning facilities. It provides options for a variety of study programs suited for my career. XXX College has academic and management teams who have worked widely in Australia and internationally with some of the best universities, leading businesses, and industries. It delivers the best possible education with a deep commitment to quality, excellence, and opportunities to develop knowledge and skills. It also provides free additional English tuition and assessment is provided to assist international students to consolidate and extend our English language proficiency to help us achieve our goals. It will provide guidance as part of the career advisory service. Similarly, XXX College also aims to be a recognized leader as an education provider famous for nurturing students into successful careers. The experience of the higher education journey can be as important as the qualification itself. In addition to this, XXX College provides a smaller class size with more individual focus. So, after knowing all these things I concluded tha XXX College will be the best option for me to pursue my further studies in a Bachelor of Information technology. And I hope that XXX College will help me to change myself as a better person and a student through their outstanding teaching and learning techniques.
With my graduation with a Bachelor of Information Technology from XXX College, I will gain short experience in the working culture and networking techniques being practiced at Australian companies during my study. Then, I will return to my home country with having an international degree and experience putting me the upper hand in the job market here. The problem that is currently visible in the IT environment in my home country is the lack of experienced manpower with no in-depth knowledge of working tools/technology. Plus, the outsourcing culture in this IT industry paves me chances to aim for higher here. The last two decades have proved to be a milestone in connecting the Himalayas in the north to the plain lowland in the south. this is all due to the effectiveness of the IT sector boom in the country. The startups by the younger generation and their success have drawn the attention of top business elites to invest in them to upgrow this sector. With the world inclining towards digitalization, Nepal has a lot more to do to be connected with the rest of the world. I believe that the knowledge and skills that I will achieve from Wentworth will absolutely help me achieve my dream of working in software development by developing various user-friendly software that will be beneficial for people of all age groups and contribute to the development of the IT sector in Nepal. I have always been fascinated by the modernization of growing technologies in the world and they are evolving every day. A dream of something related to computers in my future has always been the driving factor influencing my choices, eventually placing me at the doorway of such a challenging line of study. Information Technology (IT) has become a vital and integral part of every business plan. From multinational corporations that maintain mainframe systems and databases to small businesses that own a single computer, IT plays a role. The reasons for the omnipresent use of computer technology in business can best be determined by looking at how it is being used across the world. As Nepal is a developing country and is also becoming digital soon, so without any doubt there will be growing demand for IT professionals which will provide me with very lucrative career opportunities upon returning. I aspire to secure a better IT career in the long run and believe that the course structure and course content from Wentworth Institute will help me achieve my dream.
I have gathered all the information regarding the expenses that I have to fulfill during my study and stay in Australia. My Mother Mrs. XXX is the main sponsor of my study and is ready to bear all the expenses to support my foreign education and living cost in Australia. Regarding my current financial situation, My Mother is the owner of XXX, and she works as an assistant at XXX company and the income source will be up to AUD $ XXX per year. Also, My Mother own a property valuation of AUD $ XXX. There will be no issues to finish the entire course for me.
All these above financial conditions indicate that I will not have any kind of problem during my stay and study in Australia.

If I got an opportunity to be a part of XXX college then I will not disappoint you under any condition. Studying this course will help me to establish my career and brightens my future.
