STATEMENT OF PURPOSE : BUSINESS

With the willingness to learn and having a hard-working personality, I feel glad to present my statement of purpose in front. I am XXX, permanent resident of XXX-XX, XXX, Nepal. I wish to pursue my further studies in XXX College, XXX in Bachelor of Business. My decision to pursue the course has grown from my immense interest in the field of business, and its impact on society. I was born on XX/XX/XXXX as Nepali citizen. Furthermore, I will be explaining about my interests, academic background, career plans and the reason to choose Australia, institution and the course through this SOP and I would like to assure you headway that the information provided in this SOP is genuine and correct.

 

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Regarding my academic progress till date, I’ve completed my Secondary Education Examination (SEE) from XXX school in 2019 with GPA XXX and then I completed my intermediate level (10+2) in XXX A.D from XXX secondary school with overall GPA XXX. In my intermediate level, I studied subjects like English, Accounting, Economics, Finance, and business mathematics. The course that I have completed in grade XI and XII provided me excellent prospects to explore different areas outgrowing this sector. Choosing accounting in my high school made me more curious and enthusiastic towards its scope and vast course.
Moreover, for my further study I planned to go to Australia. So, I gave the PTE examination on XX/XX/XXXX, and scored overall band XXX(Reading-XXX, Writing- XXX, listening-XXX, and speaking-XXX).

 

Motivation for further study Bachelor of business

In today’s climate people with any kind of business knowledge are rewarded more than ever. Maybe it’s because the concept of business has grown more diverse today. Anyone with knowledge of business is a great asset for any firm.
Moreover, it is set to develop the management skills like, critical and strategic thinking, communication, problem-solving, presenting, reporting, leadership, and project management, which will increase employability.
Furthermore, it is going to be a great asset for me as I have always dreamed of owning a successful business firm. I wish to mark my existence with my successful business career that may impact my entire nation too. I have always been influenced by business icons like XXX, XXX, XXX and some Nepalese icons like XXX, XXX and XXX. And I’m well motivated that a bachelor’s in business will reward me with all those skills and knowledge needed to accomplish my dream.
Additionally, a degree in business is applicable just about anywhere. After my degree in business, I can create opportunities at any corner of the globe. I believe that I will always get financial freedom with this degree.
Finally, and most importantly, a degree in business will give the opportunity to take abroad a range of electives in marketing, public relations, events, tourism, and hospitality so that we can design our degree based on our interest and what career we want in the future. The course will also prepare students to compete in this Global Market. So, I want to do bachelor’s in business.

 

About My Course:

I am applying to study a Bachelor of business in XXX college for my further study. Bachelor of business is a 156-week course. The course prepares students to cope with the modern business challenges. It was designed in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and there are requirements of relevant professional associations.

 

WHY AUSTRALIA

I had in mind that after the completion of my higher secondary level education I will apply for overseas studies to gain an internationally recognized degree. But, I was in great confusion about where to study, which country to choose for overseas studies and similar.

There are numerous options when deciding which country to choose for overseas study. I also did a couple of research on countries which are considered as famous destinations for international students like the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and other European and Asian countries. And after researching all these countries, I concluded Australia as the best and suitable destination for my further study. Australia is considered as one of the most diversified, internationalized, and secured countries with one of the best education systems in the world. Australia offers globally recognizable world class education, and regularly features in global ranking. It is considered as one of the most popular international education destinations.

One of the main reasons for choosing Australia for further studies is that it provides the finest global education technique and system, with friendly neighborhoods full of diverse culture and high standard of living. In comparison with other countries the living arrangement, cost and tuition fee is also relatively low. Furthermore, Australia is also considered as the most livable country with low crime rates. It has a suitable weather condition like my home country when compared to the weather conditions of other countries. Australia has three in ten most livable cities in the world, according to The Global Liveability Report 2017. As a result, there is an increasing inflow of international students in Australia to enhance and flourish their career in their desired field to learn, live and grow.

In addition to this, Australia is known for global leading education with some of the world’s best facilities and educators. According to the University System Ranking , Australia is also among the top nine countries for education as Australia offers a wide range of courses, allowing students to select from over 1100 best institutions as per their Education Qualification research facility. In Australia, there is a national policy called Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) which ensures that there is a uniform and recognized progression for study. The AQF establishes pathways between qualifications and sets the standard for learning outcomes at each level, so no matter what I study I can be sure that I will gain formal recognition.

Most importantly, the Australian Government has done its utmost to safeguard international students in Australia from every respect. For example, all the courses in Australia are strictly monitored under the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) is responsible for administration of student visa programs under the Migration Act 1958. In a similar way, the Education Service for Overseas Students (ESOS) framework plays a role in ensuring that providers uphold the integrity of Australia’s Student Visa Program throughout their stay in Australia. The National Code sets out the course attendance, progress, and completion requirements for overseas students that a registered provider must monitor and report on. Tuition Protection Service (TPS) is another scheme that refunds service for international students, which is activated if the concerned institution is unable to deliver the course and truly this changes the game.

This, in future, will be helpful to utilize their experiences in the companies of their home countries or other global job market. Thus, Australia stands almost unrivalled as one of the best study destinations among other alternatives like the USA, UK, Canada, and European countries.

 

WHY XXX COLLEGE

Selection of an institute is the most confusing and difficult task for every overseas student. To choose a particular college among the renowned colleges, especially in Australia where most of the colleges and universities are ranked top in terms of quality education was never an easy job for me. I had to select an institute considering some factors like, a safe environment along with a good teaching learning system with affordable fee structure that fits my budget.  So, I did a couple of research on the numbers of colleges and universities and compared their various factors like environment, affordability, teaching and learning process etc. I also consulted with some students already studying in Australia and most of them recommended Wentworth Institute for Bachelor of Business to me.

XXX college has a team who are proven widely experienced practitioners with a good record of achievement in education and business. It provides courses designed to encourage students to develop a sound mix of theoretical and practical knowledge. XXX college has qualified professors, huge facilities, and a good reputation. This really encouraged me to study here. It will be an honor to be learning there. It provides industry relevant business knowledge and excellent student support and learning facilities. It provides options for a variety of study programs suited for my career. XXX college has academic and management teams who have worked widely in Australia and internationally with some of the best universities, leading businesses, and industries. It delivers the best possible education with a deep commitment to quality, excellence, and opportunities to develop knowledge and skills. Moreover, free additional English tuition and assessment is provided to assist international students to consolidate and extend our English language proficiency to help us achieve our goals. It will provide guidance as part of the career advisory service. Similarly, XXX college also aims to be a recognized leader as an education provider famous for nurturing students into successful careers. The experience of the higher education journey can be as important as the qualification itself.

So, after finding out all these factors I concluded that Wentworth will be the best option for me to pursue my further studies in Bachelor of Business. And I believe that XXX college will help me to achieve my dreams with their outstanding teaching and learning techniques.

 

REASONS FOR NOT CHOOSING NEPAL

Nepalese Universities have outdated coursework coupling with instability. In Nepal, there are limited colleges and universities that provide Business courses like, XXX college, XXX college, XXX college etc. The course of Bachelor of Business in Nepal is not that effective but only theoretical with lack of practical knowledge, quality of academic resources, lack of technological manpower, competitive teaching pedagogy, and institutional facility. So, I did not choose Nepal for my bachelor’s degree because I am looking for an international degree where I can find both theoretical and practical ways of teaching and learning.

Moreover, bachelors in Nepal are of four years duration. Sadly, we don’t even have many options to select from. The degrees from private institutions are not well recognized yet. And government institutions are affected by politics and lack a safe learning environment.

We know for the fact that the courses must be updated regularly. The arrival of technologies should be practiced each and every year where still changes are not quite practiced in Nepal. Even with the arrival of new editions of books, we still follow the old ones focusing on theoretical learning rather than practical which is one of the main cons of the education system here. There are also a limited number of seats.

In Nepal, these subjects have to be studied under separate courses and degrees where the international degree of Australia is highly recognized in Nepal. I am choosing Australia over Nepal for my higher studies because I wanted to enhance my skill set, my knowledge base, and properly explore my caliber as a global Business student, which I cannot do here in Nepal. So, I finally decided to choose the Bachelor of Business at XXX college to get an international degree.

 

Future Plans

I have always dreamed of owning a business firm. I believe financial freedom is a direct way to prosperity. And business is key for that.

I have always been inspired by national and international business icons. From generating ideas that change millions of lives to granting their wealth, businesspeople have never failed the race. They have always been a helping hand for humanity like XXX, XXX Foundation, and many more. I believe life is the outcome of infinite coincidence and luck. So, I wish to mark my existence in all possible ways and doing business is key.

After completing my study in Australia, I will return back to Nepal and invest my knowledge, skills and experience here. As Nepal is a developing nation, it has a lot of opportunities and I strongly believe that my Australian degree will be of great benefit. As Nepal already has enormous opportunities, my experience and degree in bachelor will be an asset for me and my nation too.

 

Incentive to return back

Nepal is a developing nation with a lot of opportunities in every sector. The major need of Nepal for now is lack of skilled manpower. Moreover, I’m strictly against brain drain. I wish to use my skill here in Nepal to achieve success. There are many national and international companies emerging here and I see opportunities all there.

Business is a well-respected industry here in Nepal. Additionally, all my family & friends are in Nepal, and they are my greatest asset. I wish to care for my parents and stay with them all my life and it’s possible only if I’m here.

I am enrolling in Australia for quality education and to better understand working systems there. Similarly, Nepal is my birthplace where I have emotional attachment. I have a strong social and friendship network in Nepal. I can never give up this sort of social attachment by any means. Therefore, I would like to assure that I would come back to my country after completing my study in Australia.

  • I need to maintain a 50% grade throughout the study program
  • I need to maintain 80% attendance
  • I need to have health insurance to cover my whole visa duration
  • I need to inform my address to University/DHA within 7days and need to update any new address.
  • I can work 40 hours per fortnight part-time only.
  • I cannot change my university for the first 6 months.

After doing all the necessary study on terms and condition associated with study visa for Australia, I can assure you that my entire focus will be on completing my desired course in Australia and experience things along the way that I may never get to experience in my home country.
